Other Ways to Give
Planned Giving
Some supporters choose to leave gifts to BRLT in their wills or estate plans, ensuring your love of the land and the Bitterroot Valley can live on in the hearts and minds of those you care about. To learn more, download our Planned Giving brochure.
Gifts of Stock
Donating stock can be a very effective way of reducing your income tax exposure while furthering your desire to conserve what makes the Bitterroot Valley so special. For more information, contact your financial advisor or BRLT Development Director, Lauren Rennaker, at lauren@bitterrootlandtrust.org.
Donor-Advised Funds
Set up a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) managed by a sponsoring organization to contribute cash and a wide range of non-cash assets, including stocks, shares of mutual funds, publicly-traded securities, private assets, and crypto. Learn more and set up your fund online today.
Gifts of Land, Property or Livestock
Catalyze land conservation in the Bitterroot Valley with a gift of property or agricultural commodity. You can donate a house, a business property, raw land, or livestock. For more information, please contact Lauren Rennaker at lauren@bitterrootlandtrust.org.
Qualified Charitable Distribution
When individuals take distributions from their IRAs, it usually counts as income for tax purposes. QCDs, also called IRA Charitable Rollovers, are an exception. Individuals 70½ year of age or older can distribute up to $100,000 each year from their IRAs to their favorite 501(c)(3) organizations, like BRLT, without counting the distribution as income. For more information, contact your financial advisor.
Tribute & Honor
You can pay tribute to, or honor someone special to you, with a gift that will last for generations to come. We will send a card, as appropriate, to convey your appreciation.
