Fall Miles Challenge

It’s Time to Get Moving for Conservation!

BRLT hosted a “Fall Miles Challenge” from October 11 – November 11, 2021 with the goal for participants to come together to log 2,500 total miles in celebration of conservation.

Nearly 100 participants from all over the country participated in this free event geared toward raising awareness of the importance of conserving open space in the Bitterroot. Activities included walking, running, hiking, biking, swimming, horseback riding – and even mushing with sled dogs. Over the course of the month, a total of 4,083 miles were logged – nearly doubling the event’s goal.

Prizes were donated from REI (Missoula), AllTrails, onX, and local authors Douglas Lorain and Becky Lovejoy.

A very special thank you to Evans Ace Hardware and Red Barn Bicycles in Hamilton for sponsoring this event.

Thank you to all who participated in this fun event. Stay tuned for details for next year’s challenge!
